LONG BIO
Cairelle Perilloux is a multi-genre author and poet, genealogist, registered nurse, priestess of bees, stars, and sacred roots, and daughter-descendant of the mitochondrial haplogroup H lineage. With more than two decades of experience in traditional and genetic genealogy and thirty years in nursing, she brings an evidence-based heart to connecting people with their own genealogy magic, teaching them how to research and understand their ancestral lineages through lectures and workshops presented worldwide. She is the author of Motherline Grimoire and The Magic in Your Genes, a coeditor of and contributor to Brigid's Light, and her poetry has appeared in multiple anthologies.
Her roots in the witchcraft community run deep. She is the owner of Witchy Living, once a French Quarter shop, and the founder of the New Orleans Witches' Ball, the New Orleans Black Hat Society, and the original WitchCon New Orleans. Nowadays, when she's not riding on a Mardi Gras float or roaming the world in search of grandmothers, quirky art, and stone circles, Cairelle lives with her beloveds in a cozy forest cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where she writes, grows flowers, wanders the wild woods, and channels Baba Yaga as needed.
